Search string in SQL View

Hello there!

I don’t know if you had to search for a specific string in the SQL view and had to copy and paste in a text editor to search for it.

There is a shortcut that you can use to search in the SQL View.

Just go to the SQL View and hold Ctrl + i.

That’s it. Now you can search in SQL View.

God bless you!

Adding D3 graphs to Visual Insight 10

Hello there!

If you want to import a D3 in MicroStrategy, you can follow the steps that are presented in this link below:

https://lw.microstrategy.com/msdz/MSDL/10/docs/projects/VisSDK_All/default.htm#topics/HTML5/CreatingCustomD3Visualizations.htm

It is pretty easy to download an existing D3 graph and use in Visual Insight 10.

Just let me know if you had any issues.

God bless you!

Exporting documents without Object Manager

Hello there!

Today let’s talk about how to export a document without Object Manager.

Exporting documents using Developer is very good in cases that you have different datasets in the destination project. When you export the template, you will be able to map a different dataset for each previous dataset that you had before.

To do that you just have to:

  1. Go to MicroStrategy Developer and click on the document that you want to export.
  2. Go to Tools -> Export Document Template…;

3. Save in your computer;

4. Go to the project that you want to import your document and click on Tools -> Import Document Template…

A map window will appears. You have to select a report for each original report before mapping the attributes/metrics.

After you chose each dataset you will be able to map the attributes/metrics. You just have to drag-n-drop each object to it’s respective object.

Notice that I used a dataset that don’t have all objects from the original dataset. You must use one that has exactly or more attributes/metrics.

Just let me know if you have any question.

Hope it helps.

God bless you!
